Notes: This course is part of the contractor PreLicense course & addresses the project manager's role in risk management, project buyout, shop drawings and submittals, RFI's (request for information), daily job reports, change orders and successful delegation techniques. Discusses types of scheduling methods including calendars, Gantt charts and the critical path method and the pros and cons associated with each and some of the available software programs.

This course also reviews current government regulations & licensing requirements, introduces modern delivery methods including design-bid-build, design build, pre-construction agreements. Reviews bidding and estimating methods. Including, scope of work, capabilities, costs, location, scheduling, cost codes, CSI specification master format, job costs vs. overhead, employee burden rates, take-offs and waste factors.

One hour of the course teaches new contractors how to fill out the application to apply for a license.

If you have multiple licenses, attendance in this course can apply to all of your licenses without taking additional classes for an additional $20/license. Only one person may attend per course registration. Each additional person must pay the entire course fee.

CE courses meet the Continuing Education requirement for License Renewal

 

*NOTE FOR RENEWING S330, S410 & S350

S330 Landscape and Recreation Contractors and 

S410 Boiler, Pipeline, Waste Water, and Water Conditioner contractor classification need at least 2 hours (of their 6 hours of CE) related to backflow preventer installation every renewal cycle.

S350 HVAC Contractors must take 3 hours (of their 6 hours of CE) which is directly related to the installation, repair, or replacement of a heating, ventilation, or air conditioning system.
